Joseph Pilates developed a method of exercise and movement designed to improve strength, flexibility, posture, and mental awareness. Originally called Contrology, his method focused on teaching the body to move with strength, efficiency, and control. Through consistent practice, repetition, and focused breathing, the exercises promote uniform muscular development, increased lung capacity, and greater ease of movement in everyday life.
